MERIDIAN – Some shiny new bowling lanes in Meridian are now open to the public.

Pinz Bowling Center at the Wahooz Family Fun Zone is the first bowling center to open in the Treasure Valley in 25 years.

Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd joined members of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce Thursday morning for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Jessica Griffith of Nampa was the first person to bowl on the new lanes. She won a Facebook contest put on by Pinz.

“I feel extremely lucky!” she exclaimed.

Jessica got to bowl with eight of her friends, plus order $100 worth of food and drinks.

Pinz features 24-lanes with contemporary interiors in a smoke-free, family-friendly atmosphere.  Eight private lanes are also available.

The grand opening is scheduled for today from 10 a.m. until 1 a.m.

The 27,000 square foot bowling center took seven months to build.  It is located in front of Wahooz Family Fun Zone.
