Social networking is a very important tool in your advertising toolbox. If you are not doing it you can bet your compition is. Now Google is going after this medium again.
Google has made this a company top priority and ahas based many of the company incentives on how well this project works out.
Google+ is in its infancy and plans to go after Facebook and Twitter again.
A important note with all these social mediums make sure that you security profile is as what you want to be. You do not want to unwillingly open up your Google information to everyone.
If you have any issues with the lack of privacy on sites such as Facebook you may not like Google+ either.
Google’s general terms of service also apply to this new service, which will include these paragraphs from their service agreement:
By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services.
You agree that this license includes a right for Google to make such Content available to other companies, organizations or individuals with whom Google has relationships for the provision of syndicated services, and to use such Content in connection with the provision of those services.
You understand that Google, in performing the required technical steps to provide the Services to our users, may (a) transmit or distribute your Content over various public networks and in various media; and (b) make such changes to your Content as are necessary to conform and adapt that Content to the technical requirements of connecting networks, devices, services or media. You agree that this license shall permit Google to take these actions.
The use of Google+ requires users to have a Google profile. Google+ privacy policy states that the service “may display your Google Profile identity to people who have your email address or other identifying information”. Remember some information in Google profile is always shown to anyone.
