Higher education officials, scholars and experts from throughout the Asia-Pacific region will meet in Honolulu Aug. 4-6 to discuss higher education quality and establish an ongoing network for discussion and development throughout the APEC region, officials said Thursday in a news release.
Representatives from 20 of the 21 APEC member nations are expected to attend.
Speakers on the agenda during the three-day meeting represent Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, United States and Vietnam.
Eduardo Ochoa, the U.S. Dept. of Education’s assistant secretary for postsecondary education, Ralph Wolff, president and executive director of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, are scheduled to be the keynote speakers.
