LV Air, a Las Vegas-themed airline, hopes to get off the ground by the end of this summer.
While not exactly an airline, LV Air chief Sean Smith’s idea is to partner with a commercial airline four flights a day and shuttle passengers between Las Vegas and New York’s JFK airport.
It would cater toward gamblers and offer amenities in the air previously unseen in airlines, including:
- in-flight texting and video between passengers
- iPads
- mood lighting
- club music
- food from Las Vegas restaurants
- holographic safety briefings of Las Vegas celebrities
- baggage taken directly to your hotel room
- paperless travel
- Las Vegas-themed flight attendant uniforms
With gamblers the primary focus, perhaps the airline would also be funded by casinos hoping to lure new high-rollers into their casinos.
It’s certainly ambitious and we hope it works, but remember Hooters Air, owned by the restaurant chain where everything was themed Hooters? It lasted 2 years.
