BOISE — A report issued by the U.S. Commerce Department shows exports in Idaho are up 17 percent in the first nine months of 2011 compared to the same period in 2010.
The report also finds that sales grew from $3.8 billion during the first three quarters of 2010 compared $4.5 billion this year. For the full year in 2010, sales totaled $5.2 billion.
Top products shipped out of the state included computer and electronics, followed by food, metal manufactured products, chemicals and minerals.
The report reveals that France, Canada, Japan, Korea and Taiwan are the destinations showing the most significant growth in the last year. Exports to France increased 74 percent and 51 percent for Canada.
