Regions Financial, which has a significant Memphis footprint, on Monday announced a new electronic, person-to-person payment system.

The Regions “Personal Pay,” powered by ZashPay from Fiserv, allows the bank’s online customers to send funds to or receive money from anyone who has a bank account in the United States.

Instead of writing personal checks, customers may use the service to transfer funds via e-mail or by a mobile phone number.

Current Regions online banking customers are automatically enrolled in Personal Pay and may make or receive payments. Receiving funds is free and the cost to send funds is $1 per transaction.

Recipients of funds are alerted via e-mail or text about claiming their payments and the sender receives an e-mail confirmation once a payment is made.

Wright Medical adopts new code

Wright Medical Group published a new code of business conduct.

The code, outlined in a document filed with the Securities and Exchangemission, covers all employees and anyone doing work for the Arlington, Tenn.-based medical device maker.

The code gives a new description of prohibited activities with health care professionals, covers prohibited off-label promotion of thepany’s products and enhances thepany’s policies on confidential patient information, among other things.

The document includes an “ethics quick test,” which includes questions like: “If you do it, will you feel bad?” and suggestions like “If you know that it’s wrong or suspect that it might be wrong, don’t do it!”

In May, federal prosecutors said thepany “knowingly and willfully” breached its $7.9 million deferred prosecution agreement with the government to settle allegations it paid kickbacks to surgeons to use its products.

Thepany can settle the case without admission of wrongdoing if it meets government guidelines.
